Can I order my prescriptions by telephone/fax/online?

Yes you can.

However by law, we can only dispense the original prescription, which must be mailed in to Pharmacy Direct before the prescription can be dispensed.

The order will be held here until the prescription arrives.

The prescription will be kept at Pharmacy Direct when required by State and Territory Regulations.

Pharmacy Direct can also keep any repeats remaining on your prescription for your next order, if you wish.

Why is Pharmacy Direct much cheaper than other pharmacies?

At Pharmacy Direct, we try to give you the cheapest price and the best deals. We work hard to negotiate the lowest prices, which we gladly pass on to you.

Do I pay postage if I order PBS prescriptions?

If you are ordering a PBS prescription at a concession or full PBS price, your postage and handling cost is absolutely free for regular postage within Australia up to 30kg.

Why do I need a prescription to order some items that I can buy without a prescription in a store?

This is only for 'Pharmacist Advice' items, which require counselling by a pharmacist, or doctor, before they can be purchased.

Ordering by fax, phone, mail or online eliminates this interaction with a pharmacist.

Therefore by law, it is required that a doctor explains the medication and so providing a precription for these items indicates that you have had appropriate counselling.

If I find a product cheaper elsewhere, will you match it?

Pharmacy Direct will match any Australian pharmacy competitor's advertised price. If you happen to find a product cheaper elsewhere, inform us of the cheaper price at the time you place your order i.e. by phone, email, fax or note in the order comments box etc. Our price match policy applies to consumer quantities only, and does not extend to our postage and handling charge, nappies or baby food or to Trade Sales or Distress Sales. Price matches must be current at the time of placing your order and in stock with our Australian pharmacy competitor. Pharmacy Direct reserves the right to verify competitor's currently advertised prices to validate a price match.

How can I pay for my order?

There are a number of payment methods for you to use at your convenience. Including:

Credit Card: Visa, Mastercard, Diners Club and American Express.

Direct Debit: Payments must be arranged prior to your order. For the first payment, you must complete the Direct Debit form (located on our website or in our catalogue). The initial set-up will take approx. 7 days (your first order will be delayed unless payment is made otherwise). When placing future orders, please quote your account name, account number and BSB number on the order.

Money Order and Cheque*: Please write your name and address on the back.

BPAY: Check out our website for our BPAY details.

* Please don't forget to add the postage and handling fee ($5.95) to the total of your order. Cheques and Money Orders cannot be used for online orders, as you need to post them with your order.

Can I order a product that isn't in your catalogue?

Simply call, fax, email or leave us a note in the Ask our Pharmacists section of our website informing us of the product you wish to purchase and we will let you know if we are able to order the product for you. You can also put a note in the order comments box at the time you place your order.

If I don't live in Australia, can I order online?

Yes you can order non-prescription items. However, the postage and handling costs will differ, as well as the delivery times. Postage Costs: The postage costs vary according to the weight of the parcel. Delivery Times: Please allow 2-3 weeks from the time that we receive your order. However, depending on where you live, deliveries can take up to 8 weeks. Delivery By: Overseas Air & Overseas Economy.

What do I do if I have forgotten my customer number/login?
Simply ring or email Pharmacy Direct, state your full name and address and we will inform you of your customer number.
Can I keep my prescriptions at Pharmacy Direct?

Yes, certainly. Leaving your prescriptions on file makes it easier to order at your convenience. It eliminates the time that is needed for mailing in a prescription for mail order.

Can I buy products from your web specials in-store?

Yes, however the specials change frequently and must be current at the time you come into the store. It helps if you bring in a print out of the web specials page with you but this is not essential. When you have finished shopping, inform the register staff of the web special or present the print out to the cash registers before your purchase is processed.

How do I find products?

There are 5 ways to search:

  1. By product name
  2. By department
  3. By Brand name
  4. By Active ingredient
  5. By browsing the full A-Z product list

Search by product name: Simply enter in the name or product number into the search box (featured in the yellow bar near the top of the screen) and click on 'Go' or press enter.

Search by department:  Chose the department your product belongs to and click on the department name on the blue tabs near the top of the screen to view the products. If the department has sub-department eg Baby and Baby Skin Care, click on the sub-department to view products or click on the main department name again to view and A-Z list of all products. The department A-Z list will show the products in the sub-departments as well.

Search by Brand name: Next to the search box in the yellow bar is a drop down menu of search options. Click on the drop down menu and select Brand. Enter the brand you are looking for into the search box. Alternatively, you can enter the brand name into the search box directly.

Search by Active Ingredient: Next to the search box in the yellow bar is a drop down menu of search options. Click on the drop down menu and select Active Ingredient. Enter the ingredient you are looking for into the search box. Alternatively, you can enter the active ingredient name into the search box directly.

Search by A-Z List: Click on the Product List tab, which is found underneath the Pharmacy Direct logo and just above the Department tabs. This will open an A-Z list of products. Use the page number selector at the bottom of the screen to move through the list.

If I live overseas, can I order prescriptions?

Due to changes in regulations in 2010 we are unable to ship prescription items directly to customers overseas.  If you have an Australian prescription written by a medical practitioner registered in Australia we are able to ship this to an address within Australia for you.

What happens if a product that I have ordered is out of stock?

At Pharmacy Direct we try to ensure that every product is in stock. However, if for some reason a particular product is out of stock, we will notify you by phone or email. If we are not able to get the product in within a couple of days, we can organise to subsitute the product for another size/item/etc, or we will credit your account for your next purchase.

If you wish to have an item placed on back order this can be arranged. However, you need to contact us by email ( pharmacy@pharmacydirect.com.au ) or on 1300 DIRECT (1300 347 328 ) to arrange this.

Proof of purchase is required in relation to all returns.

If your return is due to our error we will pay the postage, otherwise you must pay the postage.

Change of mind and other returns for credit must be received by us in the original condition. We strongly urge using the box we send your order in for any returns as using padded bags or envelopes often results in damaged goods, which cannot be refunded.
