About Constipation: Your doctor will have explained that for the successful treatment of constipation you will have to maintain an empty colon until such time that the dilation caused by the constipation has gone. This product in no way replaces the need for a high fibre diet and high fluid intake to ensure normal bowel function. Inappropriate prolonged use of laxatives is undesirable and may lead to dependence.
Daily Dosage: Shake well before use. Adequate dosage is that dose which produces on soft motion without leakage of paraffin oil. Increase or decrease the daily dose in 5ml graduations until desired effect is achieved.
12 months - 6 years 10ml to 15ml daily.
7 years - 12 years 20ml daily
Adults: 40ml daily
Do not administer:
Less than 2 hours before lying down.
In the presence of unexplained abdominal pain, nausea or vomiting.
To a struggling, uncooperative child, to children in severe distress, with severe developmental delays or with reflux as there is an increased risk of aspiration (parafin oil being regurgitated and inhaled into the lungs).
To children under 12 months.
To children under 2 years without the advice of a doctor.
Over a long period of time without doctors asdvice.
